These figures represent Duergar, evil dark-dwarves who haunt the endless tunnels of the Underdark. They were sold in packs of 3 miniatures which included a crossbowman, a Duergar armed with a military pick, and one wielding a warhammer. There are 5 variants of each pose, with the only differences being in head position and facial features.
Pose 1, variant A. This Duergar wears a short-sleeved chainmail shirt and high leather boots. He carries various items of equipment on his back, including a battleaxe, a sheathed shortsword and a quiver of bolts for the heavy crossbow he carries in his right hand. This particular variant wears a conical helmet adorned with large, round studs and a top-spike. He has shoulder-length hair, a long, straight beard, but no moustache, and is looking to his right with his mouth closed.
Pose 1, variant B. This variant is bare-headed. He has short hair, and is beardless but has a stubbly chin. He is looking slightly to his right with his partly open in an evil grin.
Pose 1, variant C. This Duergar variant wears a plain, conical helmet with a large fur edging. He has shoulder-length hair, a long, straight beard, but no moustache, and is looking to his left with his mouth closed.
Pose 1, variant D. This variant wears a tall, studded leather cap. He has long hair protruding from beneath his cap, but is beardless. He is looking slightly to his right with his mouth closed.
Pose 1, variant E. This figure is bare-headed and has short hair with 3 long braids at the back. He has a long beard which has been gathered into 2 forked braids, and is looking to his left and slightly upwards with his mouth closed.
Pose 2, variant A. This Duergar wears an ornate, leather-edged chainmail hauberk, leather leggings and boots with steel toe-caps. He wears a sheathed shortsword at his left hip and wields a single-handed military pick in his right hand high above his head. This particular variant wears a round steel helmet with a studded rim and cheekguards. He has shoulder-length hair, and a long, flowing beard and moustache, and is looking slightly to his right with his mouth open wide as if shouting.
Pose 2, variant B. This variant wears a round steel helmet with several large, round bosses decorating it. He has shoulder-length, braided hair, and a long, braided beard (in the style of the ancient Babylonians) but no moustache, and is looking slightly to his right with his mouth open wide as if shouting.
Pose 2, variant C. This particular variant wears a plain, battered conical steel helmet with a long chainmail neckguard. He is clean-shaven, and is looking straight forwards with his mouth closed.
Pose 2, variant D. This Duergar variant is bare-headed, revealing a bizarre hairstyle! It is flat on top, but stands out stiffly from his head in a disc-shape. His long beard is styled to match. He is looking straight forwards with his mouth open wide as if shouting.
Pose 2, variant E. This variant wears a tall, studded leather cap. He has long hair protruding from beneath his cap, and has a long, straight beard and moustache. He is looking straight forwards, with his lips slightly apart, as if talking out of the corner of his mouth.
Pose 3, variant A. This Duergar warrior wears a leather-edged chainmail hauberk, leather and fur leggings and leather boots. He wears a sheathed shortsword at his left hip and wields a single-handed warhammer in his right hand level with his waist. This particular variant is bare-headed, revealing an impressive, tall mohican-style haircut with a long ponytail. He has a long beard and moustache, and wears a nose-ring and 2 rings in his right ear. He is looking slightly to his right with his mouth open in a snarl.
Pose 3, variant B. This figure wears a steel helmet with a rivetted rim and cross-band, decorated with 2 long horns. He has shoulder-length hair, and his long beard has been gathered into 2 forked braids. He is looking to his front with a grimacing look on his face.
Pose 3, variant C. This figure wears an ornate, viking-style steel helmet adorned with an eagle's head crest. He has shoulder-length hair, and a long beard but no moustache. He is looking sharply to his right with his mouth open in a shout.
Pose 3, variant D. This figure is bare-headed and has short hair, a short beard and no moustache. He is looking to his front with his mouth slightly open.
Pose 3, variant E. This figure wears an ornate, conical steel helmet with a nasal, several studs, a top-spike, cheek-guards and a banded neck-guard. He has shoulder-length hair, and a long, thin beard but no moustache. He is looking sharply to his right with his mouth closed.
